Games to play with the whole Family
By Andy | May 25, 2010
There are a wide range of great video games to rent for the whole family. Although you may think you need to limit your choices to the Wii, there are also some great cheap 360 and PS3 games to choose from.
In fact it’s often those cheap 360 or PS3 games, overlooked by hardcore gamers, that make some of the best games for the wider family.
Here are some games that have been a success in my family:
· Viva Pinata 2 360 – Not only does this looks great, but players get to create their very own garden and attract visiting animals to move in. Ideal to be played in a family group because of the various aspects to the game.
· Shaun White’s Snowboarding World Stage Wii - The simple controls and sense of speed make this accessible and fun. A strong cartoon feel and animated sequences make this well rounded entertainment.
·
New Super Mario Bros Wii - New Super Mario Bros Wii strikes an excellent balance by giving old-school Nintendo fans the 2D Mario game they’ve been dreaming of since 1991, but also making an accessible experience that’s just as much fun to play in co-op with the family.
· Sonic and Sega All Star Racing 360/PS3/Wii – Sonic wrestles his way into our hearts alongside Mario Kart. Mirroring Sega’s focus on action rather than exploration, this may lack the attention to detail of Mario but it succeeds by keeping the focus on the racing.
· Eyepet PS3 - Eye Pet is the PlayStation Eye virtual pet game. But where Eye Pet differs from
other offerings using Sony’s PS3 console and camera is in quality. The sheer finesse and attractiveness of the package is endearing enough to involve everyone in the room - mums, dads, kids and grandparents.
· Little Big Planet PS3 - The rag-doll physics and kids TV visuals make this the ideal place to hang out with friends. Not only does it look endearing, but it’s also a very good platform game.
As well as being great to play with families, because these games are a little older they are even easier to rent or buy for a great price. Although these are cheaper 360/PS3/Wii games than recent releases, they are just as much fun – and most families won’t know if they are new or old anyway.
All of these games & 1000’s more are available to rent or buy from Boomerang on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS, PSP and PS2!
