15th May 2006 Frame City Killer Canned

An Electronic Arts representative has confirmed that Frame City Killer has been cancelled.

Frame City Killer was originally billed as Namco's first X360 game, and the first game by a Japanese developer to use the Unreal Engine 3. Set in a futuristic East Asian city, it was to put you in the role of Crow, an assassin tasked with tracking down and eliminating an evil terrorist drug dealer.

When first announced the game was slated for a Christmas 2005 release - but back in January, that date was moved forward to summer 2006. At the time, Namco said there was "no reason for the delay" other than the fact that they needed more time for "polishing". It would seem they just couldn't get it shiny enough.

EA did not give a reason for the cancellation of the project.
