Really didnt enjoy the game, played it for about 4 hours. Found the story boring, voice acting terrible and the controls messy.
Good game could do with the usual online extras
This is by far the best batman game i have ever played.Five stars from me all the way.Loved every second of it.I hope they make another!
A suprise hit that came out of nowhere and the best comic book game ever made. The only way to describe Arkham Asylum is that it is the perfect Batman game. Its got everything you'd want a Batman game to have. The gadgets, the darker tone, the villains. Oh and did i say GADGETS? Yes, the baterang, the batclaw, the line launcher the cryptographic sequencer etc etc. All different ways to kick arse and get around. Even just nagavating your way around the asylum is fun because of all the gadgets at your disposal. So too is kicking arse. Combat is easy to grasp but hard to master. You'll have never played a combat system like this. It flows perectly from punch to counter to throw to slow motion bone breaker. And it compliments the player by making you look just so damn good. The story is pretty good comic book stuff, the pacing is perfect, the voice acting - especially on the part of the villains - is fantastic. It balances stealth and action perfectly and it provides an open world while managing to create a much tighter focused experience than say GTA. The replayablilty is quite lengthy. Its the first game I've platinumed (ie. got all acheivements\trophies) and that is more testament to the greatness of the game than my need to get out more. Beyond the story - which is every bit as fun to replay on hard mode - are challenges which test your stealth and combat prowess. They're good fun and there's a fair amount of free DLC to add to it. To sum up, I'm not a comic bok fan AT ALL and I loved it. And if you don't too, then there's something mentally wrong with you.
The best comic book hero game I've ever played, can see why it won a BAFTA. Its awesome from start to finish and never gets tiring, looks amazing and plays like a dream.
There is not a single-element of the Batman that this game doesn't nail, from the gadgets to the atmosphere and the combat. The action is thrilling and varied, and even the quests are compelling. Excellent music adds to the overall atmosphere, and the voicework is some of the best I've heard in a videogame. A great story and even better re-imaginings of the characters and villains. If you are at all a fan of Batman, then there is no reason why you shouldn't buy this game, or rent.
the game was good but during storymode, the plot changed and I didn't know what was going on.I liked the gadgets used during the game and it was a challenge.Overall it was average,it would not be one that I would buy.
A great game to rent since there is no online multiplayer. The single player has an excellent story and the graohics are generally very good.
