It's easy to get in the swing of things in Donkey Kong: Jungle Climber for Nintendo DS. You control the game almost exclusively with the L and R Buttons - seems easy enough. Whereas the controls are simple, the complexity is saved for the gameplay.
A 2D platformer at heart, Donkey Kong: Jungle Climber follows Donkey Kong on a quest to stop King K. Rool and his Kremling Krew from taking over the universe. They've stolen Crystal Bananas from a visiting alien, and DK is the one ape who can stop them. To do this, he'll need to swing, from the Touch Screen to the top, through the jungle and other worlds.
Similar to its predecessor DK: King of Swing for Game Boy Advance, Donkey Kong: Jungle Climber is a game where DK is constantly in motion. To help him reach his destination on the top screen, you'll need to time his swings and press the L or R Buttons to make him lunge from his current swinging point to another. There are plenty of obstacles that stand in his way, but Diddy Kong makes an appearance to help DK out. With Diddy's help, DK can perform range attacks and utilise special items, such as wings and hammers.
The game features more than 25 levels for DK to progress though, one swing at a time. It's funky and fun, and it's only on Nintendo DS.
