QUAKE 4 is the first game to utilize id Software's revolutionary DOOM 3 technology. In the game, you are Matthew Kane, an elite member of Rhino Squad and Earth's valiant invasion force. Fight alone, with your squad, and in hover tanks and mechanized walkers as you engage in a heroic mission into the heart of the Strogg war machine. But, in this epic war between worlds, the only way to defeat the Strogg is to become one of them. Battle through early missions as a deadly marine, then after your capture as a marine-turned-Strogg with enhanced abilities and the power to turn the tide of the war.

the main story, pretty good but the multiplayer is awesome its all oldschool like the days of red fraction wepon pick-ups power-ups lots of people say it's hard to get a game online but i did not have that problem definatly worth a rent if u miss the old shooters still worth a rent if u don't.

Having playing this on the PS2 and PC a while back, it was stunningly clear how far FPS shooters have come in the last few years. Although a classic, unfortunately I was bored within 30 minutes and posted it back.

Pretty good FPS. Nothing groundbreaking or unique but good solid entertainment. Absolutely no-one is playing this online though. If your after achievment points check out level 27 :)

This game at times suffers from frame rate (slow down) problems. It is however great fun online (when you can get a game) and the offline single player element is sufficiently long to merit a purchase or at the very least a wee rental.
